KraftMaid Cabinetry Offers In-Booth Session:
“Selling to Women – Men are from Mars, Women Buy Kitchens” Daily at KBIS 2014
Ann Arbor, MI (February 4, 2014) – The KraftMaid Cabinetry booth at the 2014 Kitchen and Bath Industry Show Feb. 4 – 6 in Las Vegas, Nevada promises to inspire visitors with more than its visual appeal. Sarah Reep, director of designer relations and education for KraftMaid Cabinetry, will present the insightful session “Selling to Women – Men are from Mars, Women Buy Kitchens” at 2:00 each day of the show in the Education and Learning area within Booth #N2343.
This session shares research collected by KraftMaid Cabinetry from within the industry and designers across North America on what it takes to be successful when working with female consumers. Some of the insights are expected, but others, says Reep, are more surprising.
“An interesting aspect that we share with session attendees is how to help female consumers visualize what the project is. They want to have an accurate understanding of what the project will look like when complete, and they want it presented to them in an organized fashion that they can take away, study and make the decisions on their own. I think there’s a misconception that women as consumers always want someone to help them make a decision, when what we’re seeing is that they are really more interested in collecting as much data as possible to make an educated decision independent of others,” Reep says.
An additional aspect of the session, which offers continuing education credits for interested designers through KraftMaid Cabinetry’s partnership with the NKBA, is a list of the top 10 mistakes males make with females in a sales setting. Some include cutting the price to build sales, communicating clumsily and overlooking the need and value for time-saving solutions.
“Some of the things we discuss in this section of the session are probably some of the same things husbands and wives have been arguing about for years, but it’s important for people to understand that they are more gender-based and less relationship-based,” Reep adds. “Knowing what they are and how to avoid making them really opens up opportunities for sales.”
Reep’s session is just one of many offered in the booth throughout the show. Additional sessions will focus on everything from top design trends to how to become a more successful designer.
“As an industry leader, we believe it’s our responsibility to work to educate people within our industry, and beyond, on issues relative to design, construction and homeowner behavior,” says Karen Brawn, director of marketing for KraftMaid Cabinetry. “The Education and Learning area affords us that opportunity and also helps us reach people who maybe don’t generally attend the sessions offered formally at the show and in instances like our Selling to Women session, offer them continuing education credits through our partnership with NKBA.”
Education sessions will take place throughout the show in the Education and Learning area of the KraftMaid Cabinetry booth, #N2343.
