Designing With DeNova™ Countertops and KraftMaid® Cabinetry

Posted by KraftMaid on Apr 25th 2011

ANN ARBOR, Mich. (April 25, 2010) – Countertops are available in more colors and materials than ever before and can be used as unique design elements in a home. Natural granite, natural quartz and solid surface combinations can add interest and flexibility throughout. And, each product can be matched to the purpose of the countertop space to insure the best design and functionality for that surface.

Natural granite is outstanding and elegant for a kitchen island. Beautiful natural quartz is perfect in a hardworking food preparation area. It doesn’t require resealing and resists chips, cracks and heat. Solid surface has consistent color and high durability in a non-porous surface that’s easy to clean—great for the kids’ bathroom. It can also be molded into sinks, backsplashes and drain boards.

Combining multiple surfaces in a room adds interest. For example, a DeNova™ granite countertop can be the highlight of an island gathering space in the kitchen, complemented with a natural quartz countertop in the food preparation area. “The diversity in materials and colors add interest and elegance,” stated Paul Radoy, senior manager of design services for DeNova. “Complementary colors such as Tuscan Gray in a natural quartz countertop and a natural granite island in DeNova Golden Hill are beautiful pairings to many cabinet selections from the KraftMaid® Cabinetry.”

Countertops add design appeal to many other features in the home, such as drop zones and coffee stations, closet and dressing room areas, and the laundry room. New for DeNova is a laser process that produces a tile-like look in solid surface that’s perfect for a children’s bathroom shower. The faux grout lines, cut into the solid surface shower surround, imitate the look of tiles without the need for grout and the upkeep involved.

DeNova also offers a laser templating process that insures that the countertop and cabinets fit together perfectly. And, in many cases, they can be delivered and installed by the same team—saving as much as 50% of the time to complete a job. With DeNova and KraftMaid Cabinetry, the design potential is limitless.
