Masco Cabinetry Helps Design Professionals, Educators and Students Take Their Projects “From Design to Reality”
Posted by KraftMaid on Apr 23rd 2012
Every spring, thousands of industry professionals gather at the Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS), hosted by the National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA). In addition to offering an educational and valuable tradeshow experience, NKBA also creates opportunities for industry professionals to interact with design students and educators. This year Masco Cabinetry, home of the KraftMaid® Cabinetry, Merillat® Cabinets, QualityCabinets™ and DeNova® Countertop brands, is partnering with NKBA for the annual Educators’ Forum event. The company, which has a long-standing dedication to design students and continuing education for industry professionals, will debut a new education and training program, “From Design to Reality.”
“From Design to Reality” gives students and professionals a look at the final stages of the design process by using a set of tools to see a kitchen project through to completion. Attendees of the Educators’ Forum session will receive tips and access to materials and case studies that will guide them through the entire design implementation process from design to ordering. What's more, all of the tools and steps are detailed in a real-world case study..
Sarah Reep, director of designer relations and education for Masco Cabinetry, will present the new program to Educators’ Forum attendees during the show. “We’ve based ‘From Design to Reality’ off of previous educational programs and years of feedback from students, educators and industry professionals seeking resources they can apply to their work,” said Reep. “The NKBA Educators’ Forum is a great opportunity for us to interact with this group and share some of the resources and tools we know can help them in the real world.”
NKBA’s Educators’ Forum will be held on Monday, April 23 from 1:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in McCormick Place, Chicago, Ill. (Room S104). Attendees will learn more about what educators and schools are doing to enhance their kitchen and bath programs. The event is open to college and university educators and students studying kitchen and bath design and related industries. Registration is required and additional details can be found on the KBIS website .
