What do you love most about your new space?
My house was built in 1890, so it was important to me to find something with modern functionality that felt like it belonged in an old house. At the same time, it’s a small kitchen, I love to cook, and I really need the extra workspace next to the stove.
The kitchen is so much bigger and lighter now. Replacing my old cart with floating shelves made everything feel less cluttered. The shelves draw the eye upward, which makes the room feel more open.
Regarding storage, I was surprised how big a difference it made to replace my base cabinets with drawers, and I LOVE the folding door corner cabinets.
Finally, I did this remodel myself, and I’m especially proud of how it came out. I get plenty of compliments, because it’s a perfect fit for the character of the house.
